Walls are meant to protect, to prevent enemies from getting in, to preserve our safety.

Sometimes, we build walls around our hearts too, to protect us where we've gotten hurt before, to prevent us getting the same "memorable" feelings again. But many times, the very same wall that was meant to protect us also enslaves us on the inside. It imprisons our thoughts, our minds, our feelings. These walls block out everything, the bad, as well as the good also.

I guess, when we get to know our Savior, something else happens. We no longer walk around needing a wall to protect us, but we go around with an extremely powerful body guard. Someone who's our rock, our shield, our protector. If we're willing to trust in Him, if we're willing to find the courage to bring down those walls with Him by our side, then truly we could experience life for what it really is. Even when bad things happen to us, the knowledge that there's forgiveness, love and peace can give us the courage to try again, to carry on.

Some say that we've got to find the right person to bring down those walls.. but the truth is, only we ourselves can, if we're able to find trust once again, we can. :)
